The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) released version 1.3.1 of eCall test specification ETSI TS 103 412. This test specification defines Pan-European eCall end to end and in-band modem conformance tests for the eCall High Level Application Protocol (HLAP). The new version 1.3.1 of ETSI TS 103 412 was released beginning of March 2020.

The major updates are:

  • Clarification of time interval effective during redial mechanism period in clauses 7.1.1.24a, 7.1.1.24b and 7.1.1.25
  • Added note in clause 7.1.1.38 to clarify expiry of timer T2
  • Modification and clarification of requirements of MSD transmission time performance tests in clause 7.1.4.1. The updated limits (performance requirements) in clause 7.1.4.1, are based on experiences gained during the type-approval process with the application of version 1.2.1.

CETECOM is the only designated technical service for eCall, which actively contributed to the corresponding ETSI work items to support the development and evolution of ETSI TS 103 412. Beside the engagement for the evolution of eCall specifications, CETECOM also supports the development of NG eCall specifications.
