SUTEL certification for market approval in Costa Rica

A SUTEL certification is the basis for a market approval in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica

The market access for Costa Rica is issued by the national authority Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUTEL). The SUTEL certification is the basis for the market approval of products with radio technologies in Costa Rica.

The SUTEL certification is a national certification scheme, which, however, is based on the specifications of a CE marking according to the Radio Equipment Directive and an FCC certification. Accordingly, tests and certificates that have already been issued for CE marking and FCC certification can be reused for SUTEL certification. In addition, local tests are not necessary for non-cellular products in Costa Rica. Therefore, relevant tests can be carried out by CE accredited test laboratories.

A SUTEL certification is permanent and the approval process takes between six and eight weeks in total. After successful approval, the manufacturer must place the SUTEL certification label for cellular products.

We are a DAkkS and FCC accredited test laboratory and therefore carry out the tests necessary for SUTEL certification in our laboratories as part of our test and certification services and then coordinate the entire certification process with the authority. Our experienced certification team takes over the complete project management for you and thus ensures an efficient certification process and fast approval in Costa Rica.

On our website you will find more information about our product testing and certification services. Further information on the requirements for a CITC certification as well as many other approval regimes can be found in our certification database CETECOM CERT.
