SIT approval for market access in Guatemala

Market approval for Guatemala is based on FCC and RED certification.
Guatemala

Market approval for radio devices in Guatemala is issued by the responsible authority Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones de Guatemala (SIT) that allows the market access in Guatemala.

The SIT does not define its own national certification regime, but is strongly related to the specifications of ITU Region 2 and FCC Rules. Test reports and certificates issued either for the US or EU market can be reused. It is not necessary to carry out local testing in a laboratory in Guatemala, nor to engage a local representative.

A manufacturer must plan between six to eight weeks to complete the certification process. The manufacturer is also responsible to label the approved product with the FCC/CE label.

We as CETECOM, offer our customers all the services required for type approval in Guatemala. As an ISO 17025 and FCC/CE accredited laboratory, we can perform all the necessary tests for a FCC/CE approval in our laboratories. As an accredited international certification body, our test reports are recognized for regulatory approval in Guatemala. Throughout the entire testing and certification process, we handle the project for you, including the communication with the SIT, thus ensuring an efficient approval process and fast market approval in Guatemala.

On our website you will find more information about our full testing and certification services. You can also find further information on the specifications for a SIT certification and the associated certification label, as well as many other approval regimes in our certification database CETECOM CERT.
