The transitional period from the R&TTE directive to the Radio Equipment Directive will end next week, more precisely on June 12. 2017.
But Germany just created a stand-alone solution. A recent change to the radio equipment law has stipulated that harmonized R&TTE standards can still be used for products which are marketed in Germany, but only for areas in which the standards have not yet been harmonized according to the RED.
It is, however, important to note that Germany is creating a standalone solution that is contrary to current developments in the EU. For the introduction of products in EU countries, the end of the transitional period from R&TTE to RED on June 12, 2017 continues to apply.
