The market approval in New Zealand is based on the national requirements of the local authority MBIE as well as the requirements for CE marking based on the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
New Zealand Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) has recently opened the frequency band of 5,925 – 6,425 MHz for use for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) devices under the Low power indoor (LPI) and Very Low Power (VLP) regulations.
The wider 6 GHz band (5925 – 7125 MHz) remains under discussion.
