The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has confirmed the new certification requirements for devices that use Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) which have been defined in MCMC MTSFB TC T013:2019.

  • For IPv6 Cellular products without WiFi interface (under Terminal/Host category) this means an interim approval will be issued with a validity period of one year. If the cellular interface compliance to IPv6 requirement is fulfilled, then the full approval will be issued.
  • For IPv6 Cellular products with WiFi features, the WiFi IPv6 report covers the requirement and a full approval will be issued.

All products with IPv6 feature that meet the criteria as outlined in MCMC MTSFB TC T013:2019 shall be certified. Additional to the standard TA documents for IPv6 products, IPv6 Product Declaration is required to be submitted.

Important to note: The new IPv6 requirements will only be applicable for products released after 10th July 2020.
