EMC tests according to the standard series EN 50121

CETECOM offers EMC tests for the railway sector in accordance with the EN 50121 series of standards.

As part of our test services for EMC, we offer tests in accordance with the EN 50121-x series of standards. This series describes the EMC requirements for the rail sector and includes the following standards:

    • Railway applications – Electromagnetic compatibility – Part 2:
      Emission of the whole railway system to the outside world
  • EN 50121-3-1
    • Railway applications – Electromagnetic compatibility – Part 3-1:
      Rolling stock – Train and complete vehicle
  • EN 50121-3-2
    • Railway applications – Electromagnetic compatibility – Part 3-2:
      Rolling stock – Apparatus
  • EN 50121-4
    • Railway applications – Electromagnetic compatibility – Part 4:
      Emission and immunity of the signalling and telecommunications apparatus
  • EN 50121-5
    • Railway applications – Electromagnetic compatibility – Part 5:
      Emission and immunity of fixed power supply installations and apparatus

In particular, the EMC tests according to the standards EN 50121-3-2 and EN 50121-4 need to be mentioned within the CETECOM service offering, since the devices covered here (e.g. WLAN access points, ticket machines, train displays (monitors)) might fall – in case the use of radio interfaces – also under the radio equipment directive.
