A CITC certification is the basis for market approval in Saudi Arabia.
Market approval in Saudi Arabia is granted by the Royal Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC). The CITC certification is the basis for the market approval of products with wireless technologies in Saudi Arabia.
A national certification regime with its own specifications for the scope of testing does not exist, the test scope for a CITC certification is based on the requirements for CE marking. That’s why the CE label is also used in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, the tests do not have to be carried out in local laboratories in Saudi Arabia. The relevant tests may be carried out by laboratories such as CETECOM, which are accredited to carry out regulatory testing for CE marking.
A CITC certification is valid for a total of two years and the approval process takes between one and two weeks in total. A full recertification is needed after an approval expires, as a modular recertification is not possible for Saudi Arabia.
We are a DAkkS accredited test laboratory, conducting the testing required for CITC certification in our laboratories as part of our testing and certification services, and then coordinating the entire certification process with the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC). Our experienced certification team takes care of the complete project handling for you, thus ensuring an efficient certification process and fast approval in the Saudi Arabian market.
On our website you will find more information about our testing and certification services. Further information on the requirements for a CITC certification as well as many other approval regimes can be found in our certification database CETECOM CERT.
