The market approval in Saudi Arabia is issued by the royal authority Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC). The CITC certification is the basis for the market approval of products with radio technologies in Saudi Arabia.
A separate national certification regime with its own specifications on the scope of testing does not exist. The scope of testing for CITC certification is based on the requirements for CE marking. In Saudi Arabia the CE label is therefore also used. Accordingly, the tests do not have to be carried out in local laboratories in Saudi Arabia. The relevant tests can be carried out in test laboratories such as CETECOM, which are also accredited for regulatory testing for CE marking.
A CITC certification is valid for two years in total. After expiry of the accreditation, a complete recertification is considered necessary, as no modular recertification is possible for Saudi Arabia.
