The Wi-Fi Alliance® defines itself as a worldwide network of companies driving the global adoption and evolution of Wi-Fi. The Alliance’s work helps ensure that Wi-Fi devices and networks provide users with reliable interoperability, security and reliability. The associated Wi-Fi Alliance certification program (Wi-Fi CERTIFIED) is an internationally recognized certification and seal of approval for products that demonstrate that they meet industry standards for Wi-Fi devices.
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED products have been tested in an authorized testing laboratory and only a successfully tested product may bear the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo. This certification under the Wi-Fi Alliance means that a product has been tested in numerous configurations with a variety of samples of other devices to verify interoperability with other Wi-Fi CERTIFIED devices operating in the same frequency band.
