The CCC certification based on the China Compulsory Certificate is issued by the responsible government agency in China and is in principle comparable with a CE marking for the European area.
The CCC was introduced in 2002 and applies both to products from foreign manufacturers that are to be imported into China and to Chinese products. In this case, one can therefore speak of a generally valid certification standard.
Products subject to certification may only be sold and used on the Chinese market once a CCC certification has been obtained. In order to better classify the products subject to certification, they are assigned to the following categories:
CCC certification is required for all products that can be assigned to these categories.
Once the China Compulsory Certificate has been issued, the manufacturer must obtain the certification label from the Chinese authority. Once the CCC certificate has been issued, the manufacturer applies to use the logo. This must be done before the product can be marketed, imported and used for commercial purposes.
