EMVCo Contact Terminal Level 2
EMV, standing for Europay, MasterCard and Visa, is the international reference specification in Smart Cards.
CETECOM is accredited by EMVCo (the EMV authors' joint company) to perform Contact Terminal Level 2 Type Approval Testing.
- EMVCo L2 approval ensures that the software in the terminal (payment application) can process the commands used in a transaction as defined by the EMV specification e.g. Application Selection, Data Objects List (DOL) retrieval, Application Cryptograms, Online/Offline processing etc.
- Standard: Part 2 of Book 1 and Books 2, 3 and 4 of EMV2000.

CETECOM was first accredited in 1997 by Europay for Level 1 TTA Tests. Since the process is now managed by EMVCo, CETECOM is involved in MasterCard's Value Added Services to support vendors with following services:- implementing EMV specifications
- completing Type Approval Testing
- Preparing the approval application towards EMVCo.
