Global Market Access
No market is like any other, regulations differ from country to country. To reduce the barriers through national regulatory requirements, the world is currently roughly divided into three different regions, each following an own certification system for international market access:
- Americas: based on the regulations of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
- European Union: based on the standards issued by ETSI and CENELEC
- Other: based on national requirements
To further simplify the processes Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA) are made between countries or regions to recognize and accept the results of conformity assessments performed by conformity assessment bodies (CABs) of the countries that are parties to the agreement. The basis of this mutual recognition is the use of the importing country's tests and certification institutes denominated as Conformity Assessment Bodies (CAB's).
